Mérida hosts 92nd edition of Guadiana River fishing competition

The 92nd edition of the Intersocial Freshwater Fishing Competition took place along the banks of the Guadiana River in Mérida. Organized by the Sociedad Mixta de Pescadores y Cazadores 'Emerita', the event is a long-standing tradition in the Extremadura region.

Participants competed for the best catches among local freshwater species, including barbel, bleak, carp, and black bass. The event concluded with an awards ceremony attended by municipal delegate Marco Guijarro, who congratulated the winners and noted the combination of competitive spirit and community atmosphere.
