In Spain, the Auditorio de Tenerife is hosting “La importancia de llamarse Candelaria,” a performance by Acerina Amador and Fernando López that uses contemporary dance and music to explore Canarian identity and colonial memory. Additionally, Arráez Editores has released “Almería a través de sus cárceles” by Carlos Javier López Martín, a book documenting the historical evolution of Almería’s prisons.
In Mexico, the publisher Odradek is presenting the complete edition of “La noche transfigurada,” an unpublished autobiographical play by the late writer Juan García Ponce, marking the 94th anniversary of his birth.
