Mérida and Neuquén implement new urban infrastructure projects
Mérida municipal authorities have inaugurated the first rain garden in Ciudad Caucel to combat seasonal flooding and improve urban mobility. Located at the intersection of 70 and 23, the project involved an investment of approximately 582,552 pesos. The sustainable infrastructure uses porous materials, native vegetation, and five wells to capture, filter, and infiltrate rainwater into the subsoil, which helps recharge aquifers and reduces pressure on the city's drainage systems.
In Neuquén, Mayor Mariano Gaido and Chief of Staff María Pasqualini are set to announce a major paving initiative. The project aims to pave 1,000 blocks in the western part of the city as part of the ‘Plan Orgullo Neuquino’. This expansion includes not only asphalt but also essential works for rainwater drainage, water networks, and sewage systems to improve connectivity between neighborhoods and major corridors.
