Mérida Mayor promotes entrepreneurship programs for women

Mérida Mayor Cecilia Patrón Laviada has highlighted various municipal programs designed to support women entrepreneurs and strengthen economic autonomy. During a 'Miércoles Ciudadano' session, the Mayor emphasized that the city council provides financing, training, and commercialization opportunities to assist local businesses and family economies.

Key initiatives include the 'Mujer a Mujer' program, which has distributed 328 loans totaling over 3.3 million pesos. Other resources include 'Mi Primer Crédito' for new productive projects, 'Bazaritas' and 'Aliadas para Emprender' for marketing spaces, and 'Emprendo Contigo' for business development training. Additionally, women can access professionalization workshops through the Center for Attention and Refuge for Women, job boards, and health services.

The 'Miércoles Ciudadano' program, which allows for direct citizen requests regarding public services and urban infrastructure, has received 5,464 applications as of October 27, with 4,131 already addressed.
