Mürşide Türk expands livestock business in Uşak with state support

Mürşide Türk, a 32-year-old mother of three living in Üçkuyular village, Uşak, has successfully transitioned from a textile factory worker to a prominent livestock producer. After leaving her factory job to spend more time with her children, she utilized support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s Forest and Village Relations (ORKÖY) Project.

In 2023, Türk purchased two cows through the project, which provided a 35 percent grant with the remaining balance spread over seven years. Alongside 15 sheep provided by her father-in-law, she expanded her operations and built her own livestock facility.

Through further applications to the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, she received seven Angus cattle in 2025. Following births, her Angus herd has grown to 14. Her current operation includes 20 large cattle and 130 small livestock. Türk noted that the monthly feed support of 1,500 lira per head for Angus cattle has significantly aided her business growth.
