Mărișel to host ninth Mountain Day celebrating Apuseni heritage

The commune of Mărișel will host the ninth edition of ‘Mountain Day’ on September 13, an event dedicated to the traditions and cultural heritage of the Apuseni Mountains. This year’s celebration follows a significant legislative milestone: Law no. 13 of January 15, 2026, officially established September 21 as the Apuseni Mountains Day.

The festivities in Mărișel will begin at the Town Hall with a ceremony honoring local couples celebrating 50 years of marriage. The program includes a folklore spectacle featuring traditional music and dance, with performances by various local groups and instrumentalists such as Cristian Totpati and Răzvan Roșu. The new official mountain day is intended to be marked by cultural, educational, and artistic events to promote local producers and the region's heritage.
