Mrkonjić Grad couple welcomes daughter after 17 years and six IVF attempts

Biljana and Goran Komlenić from Mrkonjić Grad have welcomed their daughter, Anja, after 17 years of marriage and six attempts at medically assisted reproduction. The couple credited their success to financial support provided by the Government of Republika Srpska, the Health Insurance Fund, and the municipality of Mrkonjić Grad.

Biljana Komlenić described the long journey as a period of significant physical and emotional hardship, noting that the unsuccessful attempts at natural conception and IVF were deeply painful. Following her sixth IVF attempt, which took place in the Czech Republic, she successfully carried the pregnancy to term. Now three years old, Anja is described as a healthy and happy child. Despite the challenges faced, Biljana, who is 48, expressed a desire to have another child, noting that three healthy embryos have been preserved from her previous treatments.
