Mrs. GREEN APPLE hosts listening party for new album ‘POPS’

Japanese band Mrs. GREEN APPLE held a premium listening party for their sixth original full album, ‘POPS’, at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills on October 4. The event, which was open to 400 fans selected from approximately 40,000 applicants, featured members Motoki Ohmori, Hiroto Wakai, and Ryoka Fujisawa listening to the album tracks in sequence.

The album, released on September 30, has seen significant commercial success, recording 578,000 sales on its first day and reaching number one on the Oricon Daily Album Ranking. It has also secured 15 titles across various music streaming charts, including Apple Music, iTunes Store, and LINE MUSIC.

During the event, the members discussed the creative process behind the album. Ohmori described the work as having a cyclical nature, while Wakai and Fujisawa noted that they spent a month in the studio re-evaluating their fundamental playing techniques to achieve the desired sound.

The event was also streamed via Weverse to fans in 27 countries, including South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the United States, and Canada, reaching a cumulative total of approximately 460,000 viewers.
