Mrs. GREEN APPLE leads J-POP rankings amid shifting fan trends

Recent market data from GEM Partners indicates a shift in the J-POP landscape. Mrs. GREEN APPLE remains the top non-idol artist for the fourth consecutive half-year survey, though their estimated fan count has decreased to 488,000 from a peak of 556,000 in the previous period. The top four artists—Mrs. GREEN APPLE, Fujii Kaze, B’z, and Kenshi Yonezu—have maintained their rankings, but their collective market share has dropped from 40.9% to 38.6%, suggesting a growing dispersion of fans across the genre.

Notable growth was observed among artists such as Sakanaction, back number, and Mr. Children. Meanwhile, YOASOBI saw a decline in ranking, moving to 10th place.

In conjunction with these industry trends, Mrs. GREEN APPLE has announced the release of their sixth original full-length album on September 30, 2026. To prepare for the launch, the band has released a 20-track introductory playlist curated by the members. The upcoming album is expected to feature seven previously released songs and nine new tracks.
