Mārtiņš Sesks adapts to WRC calendar changes

Due to changes in the World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar, the Rally Sardinia will now serve as the concluding stage of the 2026 WRC season. This shift means the previously scheduled rally in Saudi Arabia will not take place.

Latvian rally crew Mārtiņš Sesks and Renārs Francs, supported by the technology company Tet, expressed mixed emotions regarding the change. Sesks noted that the Saudi Arabian rally was a significant milestone in his career, where he led the race and competed for a win before technical issues and tire problems hindered his final result. While he expressed regret over not being able to return to Saudi Arabia to build on that experience, he emphasized the importance of accepting the situation and focusing on the upcoming season finale in Sardinia.

The Rally Italia Sardegna, centered in Alghero, will feature 17 special stages covering 307.02 kilometers of gravel. The event is expected to present challenges such as high tire wear, rough surfaces, and potentially unpredictable October weather.
