Mārtiņš Sesks competes in WRC Sardinia Rally

Latvian rally crew Mārtiņš Sesks and co-driver Renārs Francis are competing in the Sardinia Rally, the 13th and final round of the 2026 World Rally Championship (WRC).

During the first day of competition, the M-Sport Ford team faced challenges, including a tire puncture in the fourth stage that resulted in a loss of over two minutes. Despite this, Sesks managed to climb to 10th place by the end of the day, recording two seventh-place finishes in the final stages.

At the top of the standings, Belgian Thierry Neuville leads Adel Ahmat Fernandez. The championship battle remains intense among Toyota Gazoo drivers, with Elfyn Evans, Sami Pajari, and Oliver Solberg still mathematically in contention for the title. This event marks the final appearance of the current Rally1 generation of cars before new technical regulations are introduced in 2027.
