Mārtiņš Sesks wins Rally Six Cities North of Portugal
Latvian driver Mārtiņš Sesks and co-driver Renārs Francis secured victory at the Rally Six Cities North of Portugal, the final round of the European Rally Championship (ERC). Driving a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 for Team MRF Tyres, Sesks overcame technical challenges, including a suspension issue during the event, to claim his fifth ERC win of the season.
The competition was intense, featuring a battle with Finland’s Roope Korhonen. Korhonen, who led for a portion of the rally, ultimately finished third after his Toyota GR Yaris suffered a mechanical failure that left him with only front-wheel drive in the final stages. Pablo Sarrazin, driving a Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale, secured second place, marking his first ERC podium.
The rally was characterized by difficult weather conditions, including rain and fog, which added complexity to the technical stages. The victory also confirms Team MRF Tyres as the championship team for the 2026 season.
