Mártires de Barbados Stadium prepares for Cuba's 65th National Baseball Series

Preparations are intensifying at the Mártires de Barbados Stadium in Bayamo for the upcoming 65th National Baseball Series in Cuba, scheduled to run from October 4 to December 22. Maintenance crews are currently painting walls and stairs, while officials work on upgrading the scoreboard and installing team signage for the Granma Alazanes.

Local sports officials reported that renovations to the dugouts, including false ceilings, bathrooms, and hydraulic installations, as well as the umpires' room, have been completed. While funding is available for repairing the field's perimeter vinyl covers, there is a reported shortage of the specific blue material required for the task.

The Granma team is currently conducting training sessions, including preparatory matches against teams from Las Tunas and other neighboring provinces. The Alazanes' management has stated their goal is to improve upon their 12th-place finish from the previous season.
