Regional fairs and cultural events held across Portugal

Several regional cultural and agricultural events are taking place across Portugal. The XXII Feira Agropecuária Transfronteiriça in Vale do Poço, co-organized by the municipalities of Mértola and Serpa, concludes on September 13. The three-day event focuses on agricultural and livestock sectors, featuring regional products, machinery, and cultural activities such as cante alentejano, folklore, and traditional games. Serpa Mayor Francisco Picareta highlighted the fair as a tool for territorial cohesion and cooperation between the two municipalities.

In Portalegre, the Feira das Cebolas (Onion Fair) 2026 is in its final stages, featuring technical colloquiums on pasture fertilization and animal supplementation, alongside community activities like classic bicycle tours.

Other notable events include the Feira de Santa Eufémia in Celorico da Beira, which showcases local products through the ‘É Nosso. É Bom!’ initiative, and the second edition of the Dia do Associativismo in Vale de Santarém, which celebrates local community cooperation and historical identity.
