Mértola hosts 17th Hunting Fair in new location

The 17th edition of the Mértola Hunting Fair is taking place in Portugal, held at the Municipal Sports and Leisure Park. The event moved to this new location due to urban regeneration works occurring near the Multipurpose Pavilion, which prevented the use of the traditional venue.

The fair brings together over one hundred exhibitors, specialists, and professionals to highlight the economic and territorial importance of hunting activities, regional gastronomy, and biodiversity conservation. The program includes various activities such as birdwatching, falconry demonstrations, rabbit dog displays, and a national jumping championship.

Local authorities, including Mayor Mário Tomé and Vice-President Rosinda Pimenta, emphasized the event's role in supporting the local economy, tourism, and regional identity. The fair also features regional culinary showcases, including wine tastings and cooking demonstrations centered on game meat.
