Mértola municipality unveils adventure weekend and hunting fair

The Câmara Municipal de Mértola announced the schedule for two major events that aim to boost tourism and outdoor activity in the town. From 14 to 16 August 2026, the Mértola Radical adventure weekend will offer activities such as bungee jumping over the Guadiana River, e‑foil riding, electric TT motorcycles, onewheel sessions and a virtual‑reality arena across the Mina de São Domingos and the Ponte do Guadiana. Most activities require prior registration, with the night walk on 14 August being the only open‑access event.

Later in the year, the XVII Feira da Caça will take place on 24‑26 October at the newly opened Parque Desportivo e de Lazer Municipal. The hunting fair, recognised as a national reference for sustainable game management, will host exhibitors, demonstrations and thousands of visitors, highlighting rural culture, biodiversity and the local economy. Municipal leader Mário Tomé emphasized that the new venue will improve visitor circulation and expand exhibition space while preserving the fair’s traditional identity.
