MRV&CO founder Rubens Menin manages construction giant and Atlético-MG SAF
Rubens Menin, the founder of the Brazilian construction giant MRV&CO, is managing significant business interests in both the real estate and sports sectors. MRV&CO reported a net revenue of R$ 10.8 billion over the last 12 months, with a production rate of approximately 170 apartments per working day. The company reported R$ 467 million in cash during the first half of 2026.
In addition to his construction empire, Menin holds an 83.5% stake in the Atlético-MG football club's SAF (Sociedade Anônima do Futebol), alongside his son Rafael Menin. The group recently provided a R$ 530 million injection to address the club's financial needs.
Pedro Daniel, CEO of the Atlético-MG SAF, has outlined a new strategic model for the club. This shift focuses on lowering the squad's average age, which has decreased by four years to an average of 24. Daniel also addressed the departure of star player Hulk, noting that while the club offered competitive terms, a new contract could not be reached. The club is also implementing fan-focused initiatives, such as maintaining fixed low-cost ticket pricing for specific sectors.
