MS Dhoni warns Gen Z and Gen Alpha about health risks
Former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni has expressed concern regarding the lifestyle and dietary habits of Gen Z and Gen Alpha. Speaking at an event alongside writer Javed Akhtar, Dhoni highlighted that modern routines, characterized by reduced physical activity and a reliance on fast food, could lead to long-term health issues.
Dhoni noted that traditional Indian diets are often carbohydrate-heavy, a pattern that historically aligned with high levels of daily physical labor. However, as modern lifestyles become increasingly sedentary, he suggested that these same eating habits may no longer be suitable for the younger generation. He urged the youth to prioritize regular exercise and more mindful food choices.
During the discussion, Javed Akhtar offered a perspective on generational shifts, suggesting that today’s youth may exhibit stronger moral and social values in certain respects compared to previous generations. He also encouraged older generations to remain open to learning from younger people.
