MS Hamburg to launch revamped ship with winter cruises from Hamburg in 2027

The MS Hamburg, Germany's smallest cruise ship, will undergo a major refurbishment before the 2027 season. All cabins will receive a new design, four new mini‑suites with private balconies will be added, and the large pool deck will be rebuilt. Additional suites and affordable interior cabins will be created by re‑configuring existing space, and 38 cabins plus four suites will feature electrically retractable infinity windows. Earlier upgrades that had already refreshed the foyer, the Palmengarten buffet restaurant, and the Weinstube lounge will be complemented by these changes. Plantours, the Hamburg operator, is financing the work together with its parent company Ligabue, which purchased the vessel last year.

The ship will debut a winter programme that departs directly from Hamburg. Highlights include a 14‑day voyage from 13–27 January 2027 to the Norwegian coast and the Arctic Circle, a 35‑day cruise to the Canary Islands from 10 February to 17 March 2027, and a 37‑day Azores‑Canary Islands itinerary from 19 October to 25 November 2027. Further winter itineraries are planned for 2026/27 and 2027/28, featuring routes to the North Cape, polar‑light viewing in the Bottnic Sea, and even an around‑the‑world cruise with stops in Antarctica, Hawaii and the South Pacific.
