Más Madrid proposes social housing park in Torrejón de Ardoz

The Más Madrid municipal group in Torrejón de Ardoz has submitted a motion to create a public social housing park in the city. The proposal, scheduled for debate on October 28, criticizes current housing management and highlights rising residential costs.

According to the motion, average rent in Torrejón is approximately 1,395 euros per month. Over the last year, housing prices have increased by 12.8%, while rental prices per square meter have risen by 13.4%.

The group argues that current policies have favored private developers and investment funds rather than ensuring permanent public housing protections. They specifically criticized the dissolution of the Municipal Housing and Land Company (EMVS), characterizing it as a failure of public housing policy and a lack of fiscal responsibility.
