Ms. Rachel defends political activism regarding Gaza conflict

Children's entertainer Rachel Accurso, known as Ms. Rachel, has addressed criticisms regarding her political stances on the conflict in Gaza. During an appearance on NPR’s Morning Edition, Accurso discussed her role as an ambassador for Save the Children and her decision to speak out about the impact of the war on children.

In a separate appearance on the SubwayTakes series, Accurso defended her activism by arguing that children's programming can be political. She cited Fred Rogers as an example of a presenter who addressed social and political issues, such as racial integration and the nuclear arms race. Accurso expressed frustration over the humanitarian situation in Gaza, specifically regarding the loss of children's lives and restrictions on emergency aid.
