Ms. Rachel intensifies Gaza advocacy and releases new music

YouTube educator and singer Rachel Griffin Accurso, known as Ms. Rachel, has intensified her advocacy for Palestinian children. During an appearance on Ilana Glazer’s podcast, Accurso criticized “uncancellable” celebrities for remaining silent regarding the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Sudan, and other regions. She specifically questioned why high-profile figures do not use their platforms to advocate for basic necessities like schools and hospitals for children in conflict zones.

Accurso’s comments followed discussions regarding rapper Macklemore, who was reportedly removed from Ed Sheeran’s U.S. tour after making remarks supporting Palestine. While Sheeran stated the decision rested with the tour promoter, Macklemore has pledged $1 million in tour proceeds to Palestinian aid organizations—a donation Accurso stated she intends to match. Her advocacy has faced pushback from certain political groups and organizations.

In addition to her activism, Accurso continues her musical career. Her recent work includes the album “I’m So Happy,” a collaborative effort with her husband, composer Aron Accurso. The project features various educational tracks designed for young audiences, covering topics such as phonics, directions, and nature.
