Ms. Rachel pledges $1 million to Palestine aid, matching Macklemore

Children’s entertainer Rachel Accurso, known as Ms. Rachel, has announced she will match a $1 million donation from rapper Macklemore to organizations providing aid to Palestinians. Accurso used social media to call on “every wealthy white celebrity” to match the contribution and speak out against the conflict in Gaza, stating that individuals have a “moral obligation” to use their platforms to protect human rights and children.

Macklemore’s original $1 million pledge consists of his net earnings from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour. The rapper previously faced controversy and was reportedly removed from the remainder of the tour following pro-Palestinian statements made during a performance at MetLife Stadium. Macklemore alleged that New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft influenced tour promoters to drop him from the tour after the rapper’s vocal support for Palestine. In response to the pledge, Kraft claimed that both he and Sheeran would be making significant donations to humanitarian causes.
