MSB launches digital banking platforms and proposes capital increase

Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB) has officially launched its MSB Digital Bank and MSB Business Banking platforms. This strategic move aims to complete the bank's digital ecosystem, providing seamless experiences for both individual and corporate clients. The transition involved redesigning nearly 40 customer journeys and digitizing 70% of internal processes, supported by technology partners Backbase and SmartOSC.

In conjunction with its digital expansion, MSB is proposing a plan to shareholders to increase its charter capital by 25%, reaching 46,800 billion VND through a public offering to existing shareholders. The bank intends to allocate 6,500 billion VND for lending to individuals and businesses, 600 billion VND for technology development, and 2,260 billion VND for investment and capital contributions.

Furthermore, MSB is seeking shareholder approval to establish a 100% owned limited liability commercial bank at the Vietnam International Financial Center (VIFC). This move is intended to enhance access to international capital, leverage specific financial policies, and expand the bank's presence in foreign exchange, capital markets, and derivatives.
