MSC Cruises hosts career day for University of Patras students
MSC Cruises, the Hellenic Association of Women in Culture and Tourism (HAWCT), and the University of Patras organized a Career Day aboard the MSC Fantasia at the port of Piraeus. Approximately 70 students and faculty members from the University of Patras's Department of Tourism Management attended the event to learn about the operations of modern cruise ships and the professional opportunities available within the industry.
Ilias Tsoukalas, General Manager of MSC in Greece, highlighted the strategic importance of the Greek market. He noted that by 2026, eight MSC ships are expected to make nearly 500 calls to 22 Greek destinations, with Piraeus serving as a year-round departure port. Currently, MSC employs 320 Greeks across various positions in its fleet. The company also reaffirmed its commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
