MSC Lirica launches Eastern Mediterranean cruise itinerary with Egypt stops

MSC Cruises will operate the MSC Lirica on an 11‑night, 12‑day winter itinerary from November 15, 2026 through March 2027. The cruise departs from the port of Marghera in Italy and visits Split (Croatia), Katakolon (Greece), Heraklion (Greece), Rhodes (Greece), Limassol (Cyprus), and then sails to Egypt, stopping at Port Said and Alexandria with excursions to Cairo and the Giza plateau.

The route targets travelers seeking milder weather and less crowded conditions, combining cultural heritage sites with onboard amenities. Luca Valentini, Commercial Director of MSC Cruises, said the return of Egypt to the schedule offers “an important opportunity to give our guests new travel perspectives and rediscover a timeless destination.” The company emphasizes ongoing investment in novel, engaging cruise proposals.

The itinerary is part of MSC’s strategy to expand offerings in the Eastern Mediterranean during the off‑peak season, aiming to capture demand for moderate‑climate cruising and enhance the overall passenger experience.
