MSCI World ETF slides 0.9% after Fed split and SK Hynix earnings miss

The MSCI World ETF fell 0.86% to $200.07 following an unusual split within the U.S. Federal Reserve, where three regional bank presidents voted against the majority decision to keep rates unchanged at 3.5‑3.75%. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh noted a vigorous debate, and markets reacted with the Dow Jones dropping over 1,100 points and 30‑year Treasury yields rising to their highest level since 2007.

At the same time, South Korean chipmaker SK Hynix reported operating profit that jumped more than 550% but missed analyst expectations by 6%, triggering a sharp sell‑off. SK Hynix shares dropped more than 9% on the Seoul exchange, dragging the Kospi down about 40% from its June high – the steepest monthly loss on record – and causing circuit‑breaker halts. Samsung also slipped, while U.S. rival Micron held up better.
