MSF reports strikes near hospitals and airports in Yemen

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has reported a series of incidents in Yemen that are restricting humanitarian access and the provision of medical care. In Mocha, three strikes recently hit the coastal area, with one landing approximately 150 metres from the Mocha General Hospital. While staff and patients remained safe, the strike caused structural damage to the facility and created panic among civilians, leading to a decrease in patients seeking care due to safety fears.

Additionally, a missile strike occurred in the vicinity of Aden’s airport during a routine flight intended to transport humanitarian workers. The incident forced the aircraft to remain on the ground and required staff to seek shelter. As Aden’s airport serves as a primary entry point for medical equipment and humanitarian personnel in southern Yemen, MSF noted that these threats directly impact the capacity to respond to urgent medical needs.
