MSI and LG unveil high‑resolution gaming monitors

At Computex, MSI introduced the MPG 271KRAW18, a 27‑inch Mini‑LED gaming display that can operate in a native 5K mode at 180 Hz or switch to a 1440p mode at 330 Hz for ultra‑fast esports performance. The panel uses a Rapid IPS 5K LCD with 2 304 local dimming zones, a Quantum‑Dot layer covering 98 % of DCI‑P3, VESA DisplayHDR 1400 certification and a 0.5 ms response time. Connectivity includes DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR 20), HDMI 2.1, USB‑C with up to 98 W power delivery, and it supports NVIDIA G‑SYNC. MSI expects the monitor to reach the market no earlier than 2027 and has not announced a price.

LG announced its UltraGear Evo 52G930B, a 52‑inch curved 5K2K (5120 × 2160) monitor with a 1000R VA panel and a 240 Hz refresh rate. Targeted at gamers, simulation enthusiasts and content creators, the display requires a high‑end graphics card such as an RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XT to sustain high frame rates at full resolution. It supports HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1, includes built‑in speakers, and currently carries a $300 promotional discount. The monitor’s large size and curvature aim to provide an immersive field of view, though it may be excessive for modest PC setups.
