MSI launches MEG EM9 open-frame PC hardware test bench

MSI has introduced the MEG EM9, an open-frame hardware test bench designed for users who frequently swap PC components for benchmarking, troubleshooting, or testing different configurations. The open-air design provides direct access to the motherboard, processor, and graphics card, removing the physical constraints of traditional computer cases regarding GPU length and CPU cooler height.

The MEG EM9 supports motherboards ranging from mini-ITX to eATX, with maximum eATX dimensions of 280 × 305 mm. It accommodates ATX power supplies up to 200 mm in length and includes two 2.5-inch drive bays. For cooling, the bench supports radiators up to 420 mm and can house a 120 mm or 140 mm fan at the top. The unit features built-in power and reset buttons and provides eight horizontal expansion slots.

Currently, the product is available for pre-order in Taiwan at a price of approximately NT$2,590 (roughly $86 including VAT). Shipments are expected to begin in October. MSI has not yet confirmed pricing or availability for other international markets.
