Nvidia RTX 3060 12 GB Returns to Market, Boosting GPU Sales

Nvidia and its board partners, including MSI, ASUS, GALAX and Colorful, have re‑released the GeForce RTX 3060 with 12 GB of GDDR6 memory. In the United States the MSI RTX 3060 Ventus 2X OC lists for $329.99 on Newegg, matching its original 2021 MSRP, and several models have appeared in European retail listings at around €330.

The relaunch follows reports that Nvidia has redirected much of its manufacturing capacity toward AI accelerators, leaving consumer‑grade GPUs in relatively tight supply. Nvidia also cancelled the planned RTX 5050, focusing instead on the refreshed RTX 3060.

Market data from the German online retailer Mindfactory shows that while AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9060 XT lead in unit sales, Nvidia’s GeForce GPUs dominate revenue, accounting for roughly 66 % of total GPU turnover. Nvidia’s average selling price per card is about €1,100, more than double the €590 average for AMD’s competing models. The RTX 3060 sits in the mid‑range price bracket, offering a larger memory buffer for high‑resolution gaming compared with many 8 GB cards, though it is out‑performed by the newer RTX 5060 based on the Blackwell architecture.
