MSI unveils compact AI desktops with AMD and NVIDIA platforms

MSI has announced new compact desktop systems designed to facilitate local AI inference and reduce reliance on cloud computing.

The PRO MAX EDGE AI+ utilizes the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 300 platform, with configurations reaching the Ryzen AI Max+ 395. This system features 16 Zen 5 cores and an XDNA 2 NPU capable of up to 50 TOPS. Combined with the CPU and GPU, the device offers a total AI performance of up to 126 TOPS. It supports up to 128 GB of unified LPDDR5X-8000 memory, allowing up to 96 GB to be allocated to graphics, which enables the execution of large language models with up to 120 billion parameters.

Additionally, MSI introduced the EdgeMesa N AI+, a Windows 11 mini PC built on NVIDIA’s RTX Spark N1X platform. This configuration includes a 20-core NVIDIA Grace CPU and a Blackwell GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores. Like the AMD-based model, it utilizes a unified memory architecture with up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory shared between the CPU and GPU. The system includes high-speed connectivity such as Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and multiple USB Type-C ports.
