MSPO 2026 exhibition showcases new Ratel IFV and Canadian defense capabilities

The MSPO 2026 International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce, Poland, has featured significant advancements in defense technology and international cooperation.

Huta Stalowa Wola unveiled a full-size demonstrator of the Ratel heavy infantry fighting vehicle (IFV). Developed for the Polish Armed Forces, the Ratel is designed to provide heavier protection and greater resistance to artillery and mines compared to the lighter, amphibious Borsuk IFV. This development follows a shift in requirements toward vehicles capable of operating alongside main battle tanks in high-intensity combat environments.

Additionally, Canada has taken a prominent role at the exhibition as a Lead Nation. Calian, a defense services provider with extensive experience supporting NATO exercises such as STEADFAST DETERRENCE, is showcasing its capabilities in strategic training, wargaming, and operational support. Calian’s presence follows a recent CAD $296 million agreement with Raytheon UK to modernize British Army collective training.
