MSRTC NCMC registrations exceed 1 crore in Maharashtra
Over 1 crore passengers have registered for the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), according to officials. As of August 12, 2026, more than 10 million registrations have been recorded, with approximately 6.49 million cards activated.
The NCMC initiative, supported by digital financial services provider EbixCash, aims to facilitate contactless and cashless ticketing for state-run buses. The program follows the Government of India’s NCMC framework to support interoperable digital mobility.
Starting September 1, 2026, the use of NCMC cards will become mandatory for women, senior citizens, and Amrut senior citizens to avail of bus concessions. Registration for school students is scheduled to begin on August 15, 2026, with MSRTC representatives visiting schools to manage the process.
