MST Agrarian Reform Fair celebrates 25 years in Maceió
The 25th Agrarian Reform Fair, organized by the MST (Landless Workers' Movement), is taking place at Praça dos Martírios in Maceió, Alagoas. The event serves as a platform for the commercialization of products from peasant agriculture, artisans, and workers from various settlements and camps across the state.
Beyond commerce, the fair emphasizes the solidarity economy, fostering cooperation and collective organization among rural families. This includes initiatives such as the Paul Singer Solidarity Economy Tent, which supports groups like the Center for Education and Support of Women and the Elderly (CEAMI).
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the fair, a special musical program is scheduled, featuring artists such as Fernanda Guimarães, Luiz de Assis, Andréa Laís, Fidellis, and Naná Martins. The cultural festivities also include performances by Bumba Meu Boi Águia de Ouro and Llari.
