MSV Duisburg and Hansa Rostock set 3. Liga scoring record

MSV Duisburg and F.C. Hansa Rostock have set a new record in the German 3. Liga by scoring ten goals each within the first three matches of the season. Both clubs currently hold nine points from three games.

Only two other teams in the history of the third division have achieved ten goals in their opening three matches: Carl Zeiss Jena in the 2009/10 season and Viktoria Berlin in 2021/22. While Jena holds the record for the best start with nine points and only one goal conceded, Duisburg sits in second place with a goal difference of 10:2.

Analysts attribute Duisburg’s strong start to effective squad planning. The club successfully strengthened its roster with players like Dominik Kother, Max Besuschkow, and Ramien Safi, while also retaining key core players through contract extensions.
