MSV Duisburg player Jan-Simon Symalla faces long-term injury

MSV Duisburg faces a significant injury setback as Jan-Simon Symalla is expected to miss the remainder of the first half of the season. The 21-year-old suffered a groin injury during the recent tram derby, and club officials fear he may not return to action until the pre-season preparations for the next phase of the campaign.

Despite this loss, the club's medical situation may improve during the international break. Players such as Joshua Bitter and Niklas Jessen are expected to return from ligament and thigh injuries, respectively, which should alleviate pressure on the right-side defense. Additionally, Christian Viet is returning from a concussion, and striker Lex Tyger Lobinger is eligible to play again following a suspension.

In other news, MSV Duisburg is evaluating training guest Jonas David as a potential addition to the squad.
