MT-251 highway closure scheduled near Cuiabá

The MT-251 highway, which connects Cuiabá to Chapada dos Guimarães, will undergo a scheduled total closure this Sunday morning. The interruption is due to the Bota para Correr Olympikus 2026 race.

The closure will affect a 12-kilometer stretch between km 39 (near Balneário do Rio Paciência) and km 51 (near the Véu da Noiva and Cachoeirinha entrances). The blockage is set to last from 5:30 AM to 9:30 AM.

The State Secretariat of Infrastructure (Sinfra-MT) advises motorists traveling from Primavera do Leste and surrounding areas toward Cuiabá to plan accordingly, suggesting they either depart earlier or wait until after the road is reopened at 9:30 AM.
