Mt. Gox extends creditor repayment deadline to October 2027

Mt. Gox has received court approval to extend its creditor repayment deadline by one year, moving the target date from October 31, 2026, to October 31, 2027.

Rehabilitation trustee Nobuaki Kobayashi stated that the extension is necessary because many creditors remain unpaid due to incomplete procedures or technical issues encountered during the distribution process. While Base Repayment, Early Lump-Sum Repayment, and Intermediate Repayment have been largely completed for eligible creditors who met all requirements without issue, a significant number of individuals have yet to receive funds.

The court-approved extension provides the trustee an additional 12 months to continue distributions where repayment remains reasonably practicable. The notice did not introduce new repayment categories or alter the amounts creditors are entitled to receive, nor did it specify the total number of unpaid creditors or the remaining volume of Bitcoin and other assets available for distribution.
