SC Paderborn and SC Magdeburg secure key results in Bundesliga

In German professional sports, SC Paderborn secured their first Bundesliga victory in over six years with a 3-1 win against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Goals from Santiago Castaneda, Stefano Marino, and Steffen Tigges helped the promoted side end a scoring drought and move to 12th place in the standings.

In the Handball-Bundesliga, defending champions SC Magdeburg suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 34-37 to MT Melsungen. Melsungen dominated much of the match, capitalizing on Magdeburg's high technical error rate. Despite a late six-goal run by Magdeburg, they could not overcome the deficit.
