MTA announces drilling tender across eight Turkish regions
The General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA) has announced a tender for core drilling services to be conducted across eight different regions in Turkey. The project involves a total drilling length of 56,460 meters.
The drilling operations will take place in several provinces, including Çanakkale, Balıkesir, Kütahya, Kırklareli, Sakarya, Ankara, and Bursa. Specific regional allocations include 17,000 meters in Balıkesir (Sındırgı), 10,000 meters in Kırklareli (Demirköy), and 9,500 meters in Kütahya (Emet). Other planned works include 7,400 meters in Bursa, 6,000 meters in Çanakkale (Ayvacık/Kösedere), 2,450 meters in Sakarya, and 1,900 meters in Ankara.
The tender is scheduled for September 14, 2026, at the MTA General Directorate. While open to both domestic and foreign bidders, a 20 percent price advantage will be applied to local bidders. Completion times for the various regions are expected to range between 45 and 160 calendar days following the commencement of work.
