MTA worker killed by subway train in the Bronx

Moet McCullum, a 41-year-old MTA construction flagger and mother of three, was fatally struck by a southbound D train late Thursday night. The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. near the 161st Street-Yankee Stadium station in the Bronx.

McCullum, who had been with the MTA for approximately 11 months, was performing her duties, which included setting up lights to warn train operators of active work zones, when the collision occurred. The Transport Workers Union Local 100 expressed heartbreak over the loss of a member who was at the start of a new career.

A joint investigation into the circumstances of the accident is currently underway, involving the MTA, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), and the TWU Local 100 Safety Team.
