MTN Elite U-19 Championship opens with high-scoring matches in Ghana

The second edition of the MTN Elite U-19 Championship in Prampram has commenced with several high-scoring opening matches. In Group A, Abdulai Bashit scored a hat-trick to lead the Upper West Region to a 3-2 victory over the defending champions, Eastern Region. Adam Mohammed scored two penalty goals for Eastern Region in the loss. In another Group A fixture, Ashanti Region defeated Volta Region 5-4 on penalties following a 2-2 draw in regulation time.

In Group B, Nathaniel Adjei delivered a standout performance by scoring five goals to lead Greater Accra to a 6-0 win against Upper East. Meanwhile, Central Region secured a 3-2 victory over Northern Region, overcoming two deficits with goals from Desmond Korletey and a late winner by Hope Gamet.
