MTN Ghana urges Mobile Money loan defaulters to repay
Dickson Amoung-Yam, MTN Ghana’s Field Service Manager for Network in Kumasi, told Mobile Money (MOMO) users that borrowers who take loans and refuse to pay can no longer escape repayment because the Ghana Card used to register the accounts links them to the service. He warned that previous practices of using SIM cards to obtain loans and then discarding them to avoid repayment will be detected, as the system retains the borrower’s details.
Amoung‑Yam urged all defaulters to settle their loans promptly so that other customers can continue to benefit from the service. He highlighted MTN’s commitment to customer satisfaction, noting that the network now reaches even remote farming areas and that several apps are available to reduce long queues at MTN offices.
