MTN Nigeria restores services after widespread network outage

MTN Nigeria has resolved a major network outage that disrupted telecommunications services across several key regions, including Lagos, Oyo, Rivers, Delta states, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The disruption impacted voice calls, mobile data, and digital financial transactions. In a statement signed by Chief Customer Relations and Experience Officer Ugonma Nwoye, the company apologized to its millions of subscribers for the inconvenience caused by the technical issues. MTN confirmed that engineers were deployed to the affected sites to restore connectivity and pledged to strengthen infrastructure to prevent future recurrences.

The outage occurred following a directive from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) requiring operators to notify subscribers of service interruptions to improve transparency. MTN advised customers still experiencing connectivity issues to restart their devices.
