Mátra region in Hungary hosts a series of music festivals

From late June to early July, the Mátra region will hold the "Muzsikál az erdő – Mátrai Művészeti Napok" event series, featuring forest walks, concerts, a fashion show, and workshops on climate change, forest health and sustainability. Performances include the Egri Szimfonikus Zenekar under Szabó Sipos Máté, the Monarchia Szimfonikus Zenekar, and a host of chamber groups, spanning locations such as Gyöngyös‑Sástó, Gyöngyöspata‑Nagyparlag and Tar‑Fenyvespuszta.

Later in July, the underground‑focused Fekete Zaj festival will take place from July 29 to August 1, bringing international and Hungarian acts such as the UK noise‑punk collective Knives, Los Angeles' N8NOFACE, and Icelandic progressive band Agent Fresco. The programme emphasizes experimental genres—from noise rock to electro‑industrial—while addressing themes like social inequality and toxic masculinity.
