MTV VMAs 2026: Lisa makes history and Madonna returns

The 46th annual MTV Video Music Awards concluded at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, hosted by Snoop Dogg. The ceremony featured 23 award categories and several high-profile performances.

Lisa, a member of Blackpink, made history as the first K-pop artist to win a Moon Person trophy in the Best Pop category for her song ‘Dream’. She also performed her new single ‘Sawadika’ featuring combat-style choreography.

Madonna delivered the opening performance, marking her first VMA appearance in 23 years, performing two songs from her latest album, ‘Confessions I’. Meanwhile, performances by Sombr and Raye during a George Michael tribute received mixed reviews regarding their vocal execution.
