Muş Shooting Ends with Suspect Neutralized, Police Officer Injured

In Muş's Muratpaşa neighbourhood, a man identified as Erkan S., described as having a psychological disorder, shot his hearing‑impaired brother Bahtiyar S. during a dispute. Bahtiyar was wounded in the chest, taken to Muş State Hospital and later transferred to Van for further treatment.

After the shooting, Erkan locked himself inside his home and fired at police responding to the scene. Security forces erected a cordon, and special operations units conducted a prolonged negotiation before launching an operation around 21:00. During the raid a police officer suffered a gunshot wound to his right foot but survived. Erkan S. was shot and neutralized. The incident remains under investigation.
