Muş State Hospital implements new IVUS and FFR cardiovascular methods
Muş State Hospital has successfully implemented Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) and Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) methods for the first time in the region. These advanced medical techniques allow for more detailed evaluation of coronary artery narrowings, aiding in precise treatment decisions.
Cardiology Specialist Furkan Yetmiş reported that the technology was used to assess a patient who had recently suffered a heart attack. The methods are particularly critical for patients with left main coronary artery disease who may be candidates for bypass surgery but require more definitive diagnostic data to determine the necessity of the procedure.
The introduction of these methods aims to prevent patients from needing to travel to other provinces for specialized cardiovascular diagnostics and treatments. Hospital Chief Physician Batuhan Dereli noted that the hospital already performs an average of 200 angiographies per month.
