Muara Langsat land dispute clash leaves nine injured

A physical clash erupted over an 80-hectare plantation land dispute in Muara Langsat Village, Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau, on Sunday, September 6, 2026. The confrontation between two groups resulted in nine individuals from 'Kelompok 80' sustaining injuries, all of whom were evacuated for medical treatment.

Kuantan Singingi Police (Polres Kuansing) deployed personnel to secure the location, evacuate the injured, and prevent further violence. During a sweep of the area, authorities seized items believed to have been used in the clash, including wooden blocks, machetes, iron pipes, and firecrackers.

Police Chief AKBP Hidayat Perdana noted that the clash occurred despite a peace agreement facilitated by the police the previous day, which mandated a temporary halt to all activities on the disputed land. Security has been tightened around sensitive locations, including the barracks of an individual identified as JN and the mess of the Kelompok 80 leader. Further mediation sessions are scheduled at the Kuansing Police Headquarters to resolve the conflict through dialogue.
